Ana Luisa Bernárdez Notz is a Venezuelan emerging artist based in Toronto. Her practice is largely influenced by the ongoing Venezuelan migrant and refugee crisis, and by her own positionality and lived experience within it. Through her work she currently explores memory, human-land relationships and individual/collective grief and joy within the diaspora. Ana Luisa holds a BFA with Distinction from OCAD University and was the 2020 OCAD U Photography Program Medal Winner, as well as one of four recipients of the Project 31 Photography Awards. Her work has been shown nationally in various galleries and artist run centres, including Xpace Cultural Centre, The Khyber Centre For The Arts and Sur Gallery, as well as internationally in Venezuela and Germany.
Ana Luisa is a co-founder and member of Colectivo Satelital.
